In 2006, Farhad Darya initiated a series of TV shows for the preservation of education and rights of working street children called "Kochah." These shows were broadcasted through Afghanistan National TV, and were an instant success in the country.
Afghanistan's Independent Human Rights Commission recognized Farhad Darya for his noble work on raising awareness regarding the extreme conditions of Afghan street children. With this program, Darya fought to preserve the rights and safety of street children, at a harsh moment in history where roughly 60 thousand working children were living under extreme conditions only within the border of Kabul.
Following the TV series of Kochah, Farhad Darya established the non-profit organization of "Kochah." This foundation was responsible for delivering a majority of Darya's humanitarian support for war stricken street children and widows within and beyond the border of Afghanistan. At first, Darya's focus was on the children. However, over the years, his social and philanthropic initiatives expanded to a greater territory. Darya became involved working with youth and women. Furthermore, he started taking steps to strengthen and symbolize peace, unity and democracy as part of an accepted and mainstream culture in Afghanistan and the world.
The growth of this circle of work led to Darya's expansion of Kochah's non-profit work to a more robust entity known as "Darya Organization." Today, Darya Organization is responsible for a larger range of Darya's humanitarian and social campaigns within Afghanistan and globally.
