Although the concert had not yet started, thousands of fans had lined up to nowhere! Among the crowd, one could hear Farhad Darya’s name pronounced by so many different accents: Afghan, Iranian, Indian, Pakistani, Canadian ….This colorful mixture and composition of accents were telling us about Darya’s wide range of audience and the open world of his art. Farhad was trying to reconnect aloof young generations to their Afghan roots. Therefore he rocked the stage energetically and appeared with a young and modern up-to-date outfit and fresh spirit.
The show ended a few minutes early because of the huge crowd of fans (around 800 people) that were standing outside the hall with no ticket until the end of the show.
Darya’s appearance on Afghan and Non-Afghan mediums was obviously outstanding. Iranian Magazine, “Shahre Maa” issue 49- published in Toronto - called him “… Voice of the Afghan Nation …” during an interview with their magazine. CBC Canadian National Public Radio called him “…The kind face of Afghanistan …” and Mandayee TV called him “…The Icon of the Present Afghan Music … The jewel of Afghan Music …”
